A guide for sailing middle Dalmatian islands- best part of the year for sailing beautiful Croatian coast

If you are thinking about sailing one of the top nautical 

Central Dalmatian islands are major and most popular Croatian islands during peak season - July and August. There are many things to do, many beautiful places to see, and great anchorages and hiden coves where you can spend day or two.

Best  and central airport for exploring central Dalmatian islands is Split, or island Brač, and best yacht charter start bases  for reaching Central Dalmatian islands are Split, Kaštela, Trogir, Kremnik and Rogoznica, everything within half hour distance from the international airport Split.

Sailing season - central Dalmatian islands 

Best sailing months for exploring this amazing area are from April to October. During April and May weather could be sometimes more unpredictable and daily temepratures won't be always adequate for swimming (sometimes they will be great during May)- except if you are coming from the North - in this case you will consider sea temperatures warm enough for swimming :)

On the other hand, benefits of sailing central Dalmatian islands  during April and May are - more windy weather (but higher level of sailing experience and manouvring is needed in case you are sailing bareboat), and very quiet coves, bays, moorings avilabile almost everywhere without pre-booking. It is very likely during sailing in the pre-season you will be only yacht moored in certain bays. Also since it is begining of the season service in the restaurants is always notably better/  there is no waiting for hour for a meal- and it seems everyone is more friendly- or at least they are not nervous since there is no heat and rushes ;)

In our opinion perfect months for sailing and swimming are June and September, still not that crowded and not so warm as July and August, but simply great for exploring the area. If you dont like too high temperatures, but you would still would like to swimm and sunbath during your yachting holidays- June or September will be perfect timing for your sailing vacation. 

July and August are most crowded months, but also with highest temperatures and low risk of bad weather. If you like hot weather, not that much windy, summer events on the waterfronts including live concerts- July or August will be your holiday months!
