SAILING DIARY- Day before our sailing trip
We have started to pack ourselves already 2 days before our sailing trip. As every year I am in sort of panic that I will forget to take with me something important!
I have packed tons of bikinis, shorts, shirts, flip flops and also one pair of Gaastra sailing shoes, just in case of bad weather- although outside is 30 + degrees for last couple of days. Grabbed some light sweater and leggings, and packed SPF 50, 30, 10, 6 and no factor :)
Kids have packed their bags by them selves (soft bags only)- of course I have had to remind them to pack enough underwear- otherwise they would have forget something for sure.
Me and my friend went to shopping mall to buy cheese, prosciutto and similar, and heavy things as water, milk and other we have ordered in advance to be delivered on our boat (provisioning service). Yacht provisioning service is great stuff- for some small fee usually 20-60 EUR charter company delivers previously ordered food on your yacht, and everything waits for you already stored in your boat lockers and refrigerator. I always use this service for ordering heavier things as water, milk, beer, and it is great everything waits for you on your yacht. We haven’t ordered things as seasonal salads and fruits, so we did light shopping at Saturday morning.
At the end I’ve had one bag for sailing cosmetics, other for shoes and bags, third for GoPro, drone and camera, and 4th for clothes. Luckily we rented Oceanis 48 with 5 cabins, so we will have additional bunk bed cabin as storage.
Of course there was also laptop bag, and regular bag. My kids were having one bag each, and husband had also one bag but tons of other equipment as fishing and diving gear.
As we already discussed our route and it should be: Saturday- PRIBINJE BAY, HVAR, Sunday SKRIVENA LUKA, Lastovo island, Monday: Pomena, island MLJET, Tuesday: Lovišće bay-Pelješac, Wednesday: Vinogradišće bay, St. Klement next to Hvar, Thursday: Bol, island Brač, Friday: Lučice bay, island Brač. I’ve already booked a buoy for dinner in Pribinje bay- Konoba Arsenol- island Hvar for Saturday evening. There is a great app - MYSEA where you can explore all bays, book buoys, moorings and place in a restaurant- via your smartphone.
With the boat code provided from the charter company- you don't need to enter manually boat details as with classic mooring reservations elsewhere. We are using this app every time when sailing in Croatia and it works very well. It already had our boat details inside, since we were sailing with same Oceanis 48 last season.
We have planed to go out for a lunch/dinner (one meal a day) every day, to have breakfast on board, and to cook maybe once on our boat if we catch any fresh fish or shelves.
